What is an affirmation?
Affirmations are positive statements of desires; they can also be described as positive beliefs. A desire is formulated and written down as if it has already been fulfilled. We act as if the goal has already been achieved. This may seem paradoxical at first, but in practice it proves to be efficient and helps us change our way of thinking about a concern or situation.
Working with affirmations requires that you know your own desires. If this is not the case, you will find guidance on your desires in the article on vocation.
If I urgently need a new car, an appropriate formulation would be:
I now have the perfect car for me/us
Safeguarding affirmations
The word perfect here has nothing to do with perfectionism. Perfect is meant in the sense of “for the highest good” or “for the best” of the person making the wish. Thus, instead of the word “perfect,” the phrase “May it be for my/our highest good” can also be used.
It is important to always use such safeguards with affirmations. This protects you from wishes being fulfilled that are not good for you.
Thus, the affirmation regarding the “perfect car” can also cause you to realize that the current car situation is good as it is and that no change is needed.
Affirmation examples from practice
There are a few formulations that are relevant for most people. These include the topics

Affirmation Love & Self-love
I, Name, love myself unconditionally as I am.
I, Name, am lovable.
This is a particularly powerful affirmation for strengthening self-love. It helps you accept yourself without first imposing conditions on yourself. Many people think they must first achieve something to be more lovable, such as becoming wealthier, more attractive, or more self-confident. However, when conditions are placed first, the goal of self-love is not achievable, even if these goals are reached.
Affirmation Health
I, Name, am healthy. May it be for my best.
I, Name, am healed from …… May it be for my best.
Affirmations on the topic of health can relate to maintaining a state. However, if everything is fine health-wise and you are worried about deterioration, it is probably more sensible to work with these worries.
The second example here is an affirmation that can be used for specific health issues or symptoms.
Affirmation Self-confidence
I, Name, am a self-confident man/woman. May it be for my best.
Affirmation Vocation
I, Name, am living my vocation. May it be for my best.
Very helpful when you are searching for your vocation.
Affirmation Heart’s Path
I, Name, walk the path of my heart. May it be for my best.
Affirmations Free from Worries & Fears

Affirmations Money
I, Name, welcome money. May it be for my best.
I, Name, live in abundance and prosperity. May it be for my best.
Money and wealth are my right. May it be for my best.
Here again, the idea is that the way we think often prevents us from achieving greater prosperity. Conversely, it often happens that we project onto money. Here, affirmations can help us recognize and withdraw the projections.
Writing down affirmations
I recommend writing down important affirmations, dating them, and signing them. All of this reinforces the determination with which the goal is pursued.
The theme of determination often becomes apparent when I work with people to identify their desires and put them into affirmation form. Especially when the topics are well articulated, clients often hesitate to put the concern into written form. In this case, simply overcoming this resistance evidently helps them move forward when they ultimately do it.
Enhancement through the extraordinary

It makes sense to use particularly beautiful paper for writing down the concern, possibly paper coated with gold, as shown in the image on the right.
Beautiful paper, dating, and signing reinforce that this is a heartfelt wish and a special concern.
